During the week, our junior high students attend Wednesday night Bible study at 7:00 p.m.. We also go on trips and retreats such as missionary projects (Sierra Service Project), Sky Ranch and Walk to Emmaus. Our yearly summer activities of mission trips, SEEK camp and youth week are a great way for youth to reach out and share the love of God with others.

Looking for a place you can belong? Then you’ve found it here at First Youth!

We have teens that learn, worship and play with us every week. From Bible Studies, to mission trips, to Sunday school to weekly fellowship, we are a group that knows how to worship, reach out and care! We aren’t your typical neighborhood church: we are diverse, relevant and inclusive!

Starting in Confirmation (6th grade), we provide a quality educational experience through our year long program which incorporates Sunday school, retreats and fellowship. Students learn about church history, doctrine, and the basics of Methodist beliefs. At the end of the confirmation experience, students are given the opportunity to join United Methodist Church of Vista.

Our junior high ministry (7th-8th grade) focuses in Sunday school at on learning the Old and New Testament and teachings of Jesus, while in middle school (9th- 10th grade) students gain a deeper understanding of Christian history and Methodist doctrine. The entire experience culminates in CREDO (11th and 12th grade) in which students articulate for themselves their understanding of theology and ethics through classes led by members of the church who strongly believe in creating an environment for learning, each Sunday at 8:45 a.m..  All of our teachers and workers with youth are trained and undergo our child protection policy screening.

On Sunday afternoons junior and senior high come together for fellowship and spiritual growth at Higher Ground at 6:00 p.m..

We hope you will join this open, active and caring group, who want you to be a part of First Youth!
